General Information
Objective
Central Mail Operations provides mail pick up, delivery and processing services to Alabama State Government. These services include the processing of interagency mail and all outbound mail in the Montgomery area. Central Mail Operations is for OFFICIAL STATE BUSINESS ONLY. Personal mail and/or any mail unrelated to government business is not authorized and will not be processed.
 
Mission Statement
Our goal is to provide interagency and outgoing mail service to State Agencies. The mission of Central Mail Operations is to insure that all outgoing mail be worked and placed with the U.S. Postal Service the same day it is received and to deliver all interagency mail in a timely fashion. Our focus is our customers needs and to implement cost savings whenever possible.
 
 
Hours of Operation
Central Mail Operations is open from 7:45 A.M. to 4:45 P.M. each working day. The telephone number is 353-0390. We are located at 425 S. Union Street next to the Motor Pool and our provider code # is 2608.
 
 
Available Services
The mail center offers folding, tabbing, metering and discount bar-coding of first class and standard size letter mail on the MLOCR.
 
 
Pick-up Times
The following will be in effect Monday through Friday:
Central Mail Operations will call each agency contact person to pick up incoming certified, registered and express mail. All out going certified, registered or express mail it to be dropped off by 3:00pm in order to meet the deadlines set by the U S Postal Service. If you miss the cutoff time, your material will be sent out the next business day.

Regular U.S. Mail

Outbound mail collected during the day is processed for delivery to the US Postal Service at 8:00 A.M. and 4:45 P.M. To receive prompt service, please try to meet these dispatch times.
